Mona Meshram was once considered one of India’s most reliable middle-order batters, but since 2019, she has been away from the national team. Currently, she represents the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA).
During a recent practice session, Meshram highlighted a major concern regarding the Nagpur weather, which could create difficulties for her and her fellow players.
Mona Meshram Opens Up About Nagpur Weather
Apart from cricket, Meshram also runs a vlog named “Madness with Mona,” where she shares moments from her cricket journey and daily experiences.
In one of her recent vlogs, Mona spoke about the challenging weather conditions in Nagpur during a practice session. She highlighted how the weather has been affecting her and her fellow players while preparing on the field.
After returning from practice, the players are feeling extremely tired due to the intense weather conditions in Nagpur.
Meshram mentioned that there has been no rain in the city, and the scorching heat has made things even more difficult. She added that their practice sessions are taking place under the harsh sun, making the conditions challenging for the players.
However, Meshram also pointed out the positive side of these challenging weather conditions for cricketers. She said that, in a way, it is beneficial because players get the opportunity to practice on tougher wickets.
Meshram played her last match for India Women against England Women on February 28, 2019, at the Wankhede Stadium. Unfortunately, it was not a memorable outing for the Indian batter, as she was dismissed for a duck. India Women also ended up losing the match by 2 wickets.
Beyond her international career, Meshram was a key member of the historic Indian squad that reached the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup final at Lord’s. Leveraging over a decade of elite domestic experience, she now channels her profound expertise into mentoring younger regional talents and driving Vidarbha’s competitive ambitions forward.
