Radha Yadav’s Early Life & Family Background
The 26-year-old cricketer was born on April 20, 2000, in Kandivali West, Mumbai. Her father, Omprakash Yadav, ran a vegetable stall, and Radha Yadav lived with her family in a 225 sq ft house behind the stall.
Talking about the women’s cricketer’s schooling, she studied at Damodar Kale Vidyalaya and later moved to Our Lady of Remedy School (Kandivali) in 2013. She then continued her education at Vidya Kunj School.
How Did Radha Yadav Start Her Cricket Journey?
The Indian bowling all-rounder used to play cricket with boys in her society compound, where her talent was noticed by her coach, Prafful Naik. He started coaching her when she was just 12 years old. Her coach also helped her shift from Anandibai Damodar Kale Vidyalaya to Our Lady of Remedy.
The slow left-arm orthodox bowler made her international T20 debut against the South Africa Women’s team on February 13, 2018. In October 2018, she was included in India’s squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup, where she became the joint leading wicket-taker for the team after taking eight wickets in five matches.
Talking about the biggest milestone of Yadav’s career, she achieved it on November 9, 2020, during the final of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020 between Trailblazers and Supernovas. She became the first women’s cricketer to take a five-wicket haul in a T20 match.
The Mumbai-born cricketer made her One Day International debut against South Africa on March 14, 2021. In May 2021, she was included in the Test match squad, but unfortunately, she is yet to make her Test debut.
The RCB star made her WPL debut with Delhi Capitals and represented the team during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. However, in 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed her for ₹65 lakh.
