Team India has become the top team in Group A and secured their place in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 semi-final. However, Kaur’s team made two mistakes: fielding errors and a shaky batting order, issues that have not been limited to the Pakistan clash but have been visible throughout the tournament.

In today’s India vs Pakistan Women’s T20 match, we saw how Pakistan’s opening batters Muneeba Ali and Shawal Zulfiqar were building the innings with a stable partnership. However, a crucial moment came when Pratika Rawal dropped Ali’s catch.
The fielding mistake was repeated later when Prema Rawat dropped the catch of Pakistan captain Sana Fatima.
Although both batters failed to take advantage of these opportunities, such mistakes could prove costly in bigger games. If similar errors happen against Sri Lanka, and the batters involved are players like Chamari Athapaththu or Harshitha Samarawickrama, India could end up paying a heavy price.
Talking about the second mistake, apart from the Hong Kong game, India’s batting order has struggled in the other two Group A matches. Even while chasing a low target today, India lost early wickets of Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal.
Pakistan are ranked No. 9, and Sri Lanka are ranked No. 6 in women’s cricket, but neither team can be taken lightly, especially in knockout matches.
