Pat Cummins knows how to juggle a relentless international calendar, marshal a pace attack across formats. But when the Baggy Green comes off, a different kind of shift begins. Of a dotting father.

What Did Becky Cummins Say About Pat Cummins?

On Father’s Day on Sunday, his wife, Becky Cummins, offered fans a rare, light-hearted glimpse behind closed doors. Taking to her Instagram handle, she shared a sweet tribute to her husband that quickly set tongues wagging across the cricket community.

“Happy Daddy’s Day to the absolute greatest. (Even if you do sometimes drop the ball) 🤍 we love you x,” Becky posted, blending genuine warmth with a cheeky bit of banter.

It’s the kind of grounded realism every parent can get behind.

Becky’s playful jab about “dropping the ball” reminded everyone that off the pitch, elite athletes face the same everyday chaos as the rest of us. It’s a refreshing change. From the usual heavily polished PR statements we’re used to seeing from sports stars.

In the post, fans could see Cummins sharing some playtime with their children. Carrying them and handling them with care. Becky also shared some off-the-pitch moments. Elder son Albie wearing an Australian kit, and the younger daughter, Edi, in an adorable outfit.

Cummins himself couldn’t stop reacting to the post, as he replied, “❤️❤️” in the comment section.

Balancing elite sport with family life isn’t easy. Cummins knows that. Back in early 2025, he took well-deserved paternity leave to welcome his baby daughter.

Managing the heavy mental load of international captaincy while being a hands-on dad to two young children takes immense balance. For a fast bowler whose body is constantly put on the line, recovery at home is just as crucial as recovery in the gym.

As Cummins gears up for the coming South Africa tour, he’ll head out knowing he’s got a solid support network waiting at home.

And judging by Becky’s post, he’s doing just fine. Even if he occasionally fumbles the parenting playbook.
