India Women vs Sri Lanka Women’s cricket match will be seen once again after the Asia Cup, this time at the Asian Games, with the two teams set to battle for the Gold Medal. Ahead of the clash, Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has shared a strong message for her team.

Chamari Athapaththu Uses John F. Kennedy’s Wisdom to Lift Team Spirit

India Women had handed Sri Lanka a heavy defeat in the Women’s Asia Cup, and now the Sri Lanka captain believes her team should forget the past and focus on the future. Although the quote originally comes from former US President John F. Kennedy, Athapaththu has used it at the right moment.

Chamari wrote, “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. — John F. Kennedy.”

Along with Kennedy’s quote, the 36-year-old also shared a photo of herself wearing a dark denim jacket with matching wide-leg jeans. Under the black denim jacket, the Sri Lankan cricketer wore an off-white T-shirt, while she completed the look with sneakers.

She was also wearing black sunglasses and a black watch while holding a smartphone in her hand as she took a mirror selfie. The picture suggests that Athapaththu was standing in a trial room while trying on clothes.

Talking about the India Women vs Sri Lanka Women Asian Games clash, the two teams will face each other for the Gold Medal on September 22 at 10:30 AM IST.

Athapaththu will lead the Sri Lankan side, while Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the Women in Blue.
