Starc reflected on the early months of Healy’s post-retirement life, kicking off the banter. Recounting a time she sent him a cheeky photo of herself enjoying a drink on a golf course while he was stuck on a commercial flight heading to work.
“She’s (Alyssa Healy) back at work now. She thoroughly enjoyed the first few months post-retirement,” Starc recounted.
“Personal favorite was receiving a photo of her and a couple of thirsty friends in the middle of the 18th fairway of Brookvale on open week while I was sitting on a plane up to Brisbane about to bowl to an empty net. So that went down well.”
Naturally, the image of his wife soaking up the sun on a golf course while he prepared for a rigorous training session didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. But Healy wasn’t about to take the teasing lying down.
Seizing the opportunity to defend herself. She jumped into the conversation with a brilliant retort.
“They were going down well that day. So yeah, sorry for trying to share the moment with you,” Healy quipped back.
She added details of the golf outing, refusing to let up on the comedic timing, joking about trying to keep him updated on the action.
“We were like having a little photo, and we’re like, ‘Oh, Ryan Fox is about to, probably in 10 minutes, sink his bird.’ Oh, wait. It’s already done. Cuz he was that quick over.”
