Hardik Pandya wants out. It’s an open secret, but there are many rumours floating around him. KKR, Delhi Capitals, and CSK remain interested. But if you believe Kris Srikkanth, the perfect fit is only one.
What Did Kris Srikkanth Say About Hardik Pandya’s Potential Trade to CSK?
The 1983 World Cup legend shared his opinion on Pandya on his YouTube channel “Cheeky Cheeka.” He backed the allrounder and praised his credentials.
But the fit with CSK? Srikkanth called it perfect.
“CSK taking Hardik Pandya will be a fantastic fit. Let’s be very clear. Middle order, allrounder, captain, and medium pacer. All in one package. Real allrounder, genuine allrounder at world level,” Srikkanth said.
When you look at the raw numbers, it’s easy to see why elite franchises would kill to get their hands on him. Across his glittering IPL career spanning 162 matches, Hardik’s pumped out 2,955 runs at a blistering strike rate of 146.2, alongside 82 vital wickets.
Not to mention Pandya’s 5 IPL titles. 4 with the Mumbai Indians. One while wearing the captain’s armband for the Gujarat Titans.
“He was a key factor in India winning the T20 World Cup… In all fairness, he’s been a key factor, for Mumbai Indians winning so many IPL titles, has been Hardik Pandya, even in Mumbai Indians,” Srikkanth added.
“Forget about GT, [for] Mumbai Indians. So I think, as a player, 100% yes, CSK will benefit a lot.”
But what can the Super Kings offer to the Indians? A finisher in Shivam Dube, a fast bowler in Khaleel Ahmed. Both fixing two major areas of concern. A void left by Kieron Pollard. A backup for Jasprit Bumrah.
Seeing Pandya in yellow would completely break the internet. Considering his clutch performances, like his heroics during India’s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, any side would instantly level up.
Will CSK and MI do it? The mystery remains.
