The relationship drama between Ashleigh Gardner and Monica Wright is something hardly any cricket fan would have forgotten. Although the Australian vice-captain last publicly addressed the matter through Instagram, with no response from her estranged wife, the influencer has now, indirectly, expressed how she is feeling.
Monica Wright Tries Running to Distract Herself Amid Relationship Drama
Recently, on her Instagram story, the cricketer’s former wife shared a video of herself running and told fans that she was doing it to distract herself. Not only that, but Wright also asked netizens for ideas on what else she could do.
Wright said, “Running out of ways to distract myself. Give me some ideas to try.”
Gardner’s ex-wife can be seen heading out for a walk wearing a white T-shirt and goggles, as can be inferred from the video. Her Australian Shepherd dog was also keeping her company, which she revealed in the next story.
Trying to take a selfie with her dog Nellie, she said, “If teaching Nellie how to take a photo was your answer, we are trying.”
On one hand, after the story of her public breakup, Gardner has become completely focused on her cricket career, with her Trent Rockets Women’s The Hundred final win serving as proof of that.
On the other hand, Monica is also trying to move forward in life, whether by running, exploring London with friends, or in other ways, as can be seen from her Instagram profile.
Talking about the relationship drama between the Australian cricketer and her ex-wife, the couple got married in April 2025, but their marriage ended around late 2025 or early 2026.
The drama intensified when Wright made serious accusations against the 29-year-old cricketer and alleged that she was in a relationship with Georgia Voll. She also called on Cricket Australia to strip Gardner of her vice-captaincy. Some time later, Ashleigh was seen addressing the allegations.
