Pratika Rawal’s Early Life and Family Background
The 25-year-old cricketer was born on September 1, 2000, in Delhi. Her father, Pradeep Rawal, is a BCCI-certified Level-II umpire with the Delhi & District Cricket Association, while her mother, Rajni Rawal, is a homemaker. She also has a younger brother, Shashwat Rawal.
Pratika Rawal completed her schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, where she scored 92.5 per cent in her CBSE Class 12 board exams.
She later completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Jesus & Mary College. Apart from cricket, Rawal also played basketball for Bal Bharati School in Rajender Nagar and won a gold medal at the 64th School National Games in Delhi in January 2019.
How Rawal Started Her Cricket Journey
The India opening batter was in the fourth standard and just 10 years old when she started her cricket journey. Rawal trained under coach Sharvan Kumar at the Rohtak Road Gymkhana Cricket Academy before later training with former cricketer Dipti Dhyani and Delhi women’s team coach Dishant Yagnik.
The Indian women’s cricketer began her domestic career with Delhi, representing the team from 2021 to 2024 before switching to Railways in 2024.
In December 2024, Rawal received her first national call-up to represent India in the ODI series against the West Indies. On her debut on December 22, she played a fine 40-run innings.
In the second match, she scored 76 and also shared a 110-run partnership with Smriti Mandhana, while contributing two wickets for the team.
The cricketer has not made her T20I debut yet, but she will now feature in the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup as injured Jemimah Rodrigues’ replacement.
