What Did Steve Smith Say About the Controversial Call During Australia vs Bangladesh?
The cricket fans saw the action unfold during the morning season, where Hossain’s delivery had Smith beat. The Bangladesh team jumped in exhalation, thinking that they had Smith. Smith almost walked off.
But umpire Kumar Dharmasena denied. A prompt DRS appeal also bore no fruit for the Tigers.
When asked during the post-game interview whether he nicked that, Smith said, “I think so, yeah. At the moment. I was lucky. Yeah, it seems that way, yeah.”
The controversial play did raise some eyebrows, even cricket fans started questioning the technology. Smith also faced the same question in the presser.
“You’ve got to take it sometimes. Normally it’s pretty good. Yeah, maybe I didn’t nick it, I don’t know,” the Australian batter replied.
“But I certainly felt something. If I’d been given out, I was going to walk off. But yeah, technology saved me today, I guess.”

“I think so, yeah.”

Smith took his luck, capitalised on the reprieve, and got on with the job, scoring 71, when the whole team bundled out for 198.
Bangladesh still ended the day on high, a feat many fans wouldn’t have expected. The Tigers still trail by 102 runs, but they have 9 wickets intact and have the Kangaroos on the ropes.
