Mithali Raj retired from all formats of cricket on June 8, 2022, but one question has continued to linger in the minds of her fans even after her retirement: her marriage plans. However, the former cricketer has recently addressed the topic herself and offered some clarity in an interview.

Mithali Raj Says She Is Ready to Get Married on 1 Condition

Recently, NTV Sports shared a video featuring an interview with the retired women’s cricketer, where an NTV news anchor asked her several questions, particularly about her life partner and marriage. Raj answered the questions openly and without hesitation.

Raj said, “If I find the right person, I’ll definitely give it a thought. If it happens, it happens. If it’s meant to happen organically, I’m open to it.”

During the podcast, Raj also opened up about several other topics, including the marriage rumours linking her with Shikhar Dhawan.

Reacting to the speculation, the former top-order batter was seen saying, “Are you kidding me?” She later clarified that Dhawan is from Delhi, while she is from Hyderabad, and that the two have never even met.

Talking about the 43-year-old, she is still single. Looking at her past relationships, the Padma Shri award winner has always kept her personal life extremely private. As a result, there have never been any reports of her dating or being in a relationship in the media or elsewhere.

Talking about the former women’s cricketer’s life after retirement, it seems there was never really a concept of an “after cricket” phase in Raj’s dictionary.

Soon after retiring as a player, she remained actively involved in the sport through mentorship, consulting, expert analysis and interviews. Even away from the field, Raj continues to play an important role in the cricketing world.

Apart from this, it is worth mentioning that Raj has also been honoured with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for her remarkable contribution to Indian cricket.
