Maia Bouchier Needs a Rest After Women’s One-Day Cup Final

The tournament’s final between Hampshire Women and The Blaze ended on September 19, but the match seems to have stayed in the players’ memories. On September 22, 2026, Bouchier expressed her feelings about the final and revealed through an Instagram Story that she now needs some rest.

Bouchier wrote, “Now it’s time for a well earned rest.”

“It really has been an amazing year for these girls. I’m so proud to be part of this team – we really have ridden the highs and lows of the season together,” she added in the same story.

Later, Bouchier continued, “Getting to the final was the cherry on top of all that hard work but the loss does not define our season. It’ll hurt for a while but I know we’ll be hungry for more next time.”

“I for one I’m chuffed to see how much growth everyone has shown,” the cricketer concluded.

While Bouchier revealed through her story that she needs some rest, in another story she showed a bag-packing scenario and wrote, “It’s go time.”

This makes it clear that she is now heading off on vacation. The 27-year-old revealed her destination without saying a word, using a flag to show that she was heading to America.

Talking about the One-Day Cup final between Hampshire Women and The Blaze, Bouchier may not have been Hampshire’s highest scorer, but her contribution of 29 runs was important as she supported Ella McCaughan, who scored 78.

For context, the English cricketer had already scored a big 117 not out against Surrey in the same tournament.
