Ollie Robinson’s red-ball renaissance has taken the cricketing world by storm. Pakistan has been at the receiving end of it. Accolades have followed, but wife Mia Baker has a hilarious explanation for the English bowler’s sudden surge.
What Did Mia Baker Say About Ollie Robinson?
Baker on Monday shared her experience of being a mother and a cricketer’s wife. Despite welcoming a baby daughter, Eva, on August 16th, she made a London trip. Cheering for Robinson at Lord’s.
Baker shared the visuals of her and their baby daughter in the stands and some behind-the-scenes stills of their life off-the-pitch. In addition, she revealed how becoming a father helped Robinson achieve his cricketing peak.
“🏏 life on the cricket schedule – 2 weeks post partum… they say having a baby makes you a better athlete… guess that saying seems to work x3 man of the match in a row & 23 wickets @ 8.34 not too bad our little Eva 💕,” Baker wrote on Instagram post’s caption.
The post also attracted attention, as English cricketer Danni Wyatt-Hodge commented, “😍😍😍.”
Similarly, Robinson responded with “❤️🩷” in the comment section, showing his love and appreciation for Baker and their newborn baby.
The numbers backing up the joke are genuinely staggering. Robinson has completely dismantled batting line-ups this season. During the recent Test match heroics against Pakistan at Lord’s, he bagged match figures of 8 for 35, routing the tourists with precision seam movement and relentless accuracy.
It follows hot on the heels of another stellar performance at Headingley. Leaving opposition top orders completely clueless against his probing lengths. Yet, as the wickets pile up and the accolades roll in, it’s clear that life at home with baby Eva is keeping the England quick grounded.
The fans can expect Baker to keep on sharing off-the-pitch stills of their married life and hope the new dad luck doesn’t run out soon for Robinson.
