After winning the Women’s Asia Cup, India Women have now also secured the Gold Medal at the Asian Games. The entire nation is feeling proud of the women, but their head coach Amol Muzumdar is perhaps the proudest of all, and he was seen expressing that feeling by calling it “pure gold”.
Amol Muzumdar Feels Proud of India Women and Support Staff
On the special occasion of winning gold at the Asian Games, the head coach did not keep his happiness to himself. Instead, Amol Muzumdar shared it publicly on Instagram and revealed that he was proud of both the team and the support staff.
Muzumdar wrote, “That feeling of pure gold when the 🇮🇳 goes up! Proud of the girls and my support staff for this truly special campaign.”
Along with the caption, the head coach also shared 10 pictures from his memories of the Asian Games in Japan. The first photo showed the entire team and support staff in one frame, holding up their gold medals.
The second picture showed the Indian flag standing between the Pakistan and Sri Lanka flags and higher than them, with India finishing first, Sri Lanka second, and Pakistan third.
In the third image, Muzumdar shared a picture of the winning squad, while the fourth showed him standing with the team. The fifth was a solo picture of the head coach, followed by a photo with the support staff in the sixth.
The remaining pictures captured some special moments he spent in Japan away from the ground.
For context, the 51-year-old joined the India Women’s team as head coach on October 25, 2023, and his tenure since then has been highly successful. Under Muzumdar’s coaching, India Women won their first ICC Women’s ODI World Cup title in 2025, along with the Women’s Asia Cup and the Asian Games Gold Medal.
